Dolph Ziggler and Lana are out first followed by Cesaro. WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback is out next followed by Randy Orton. Rusev and Summer Rae are out first for their team. Kevin Owens is out next followed by Big Show and then Sheamus, and the match begins.

Later on, Ziggler fights off a chokeslam and nails a big DDT on Show. Rusev tags in and stops Ziggler from tagging. Lana tackles Summer at ringside and they brawl as fans cheer for Lana. Rusev is distracted, leading to Ziggler hitting the Fame-asser.

Later on, Orton tags in and hits a powerslam and the second rope draping DDT. Orton dropkicks Show on the apron but turns around to Sheamus going for a slam. Show accidentally hits the knockout punch on Sheamus while going for Orton. Orton hits the RKO on Sheamus for the win.

Winners: Randy Orton, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler and Ryback

Post match, the four men celebrate, with Lana applauding them at ringside before she joins in the celebrations.

Dolph Ziggler w/Lana vs. Rusev w/Summer Rae

Dolph counters a backdrop with a dropkick, then Rusev slams him in the corner and applies a bearhug. Dolph gets slammed down again, then Rusev picks him up for a press slam but Dolph counters with a swinging DDT. They get back up and slug it out, then Dolph clotheslines him a few times and splashes him in the corner. Dolph hits a neckbreaker and hits an elbow drop for two, then Rusev knocks him back and tries to go up top. Dolph catches him with a facebuster but Rusev comes right back with a side throw and a somersault senton off the ropes. Rusev tries to slam him down but Dolph counters with a rollup, then Dolph applies a sleeperhold but Rusev reaches the ropes.

Dolph keeps the hold applied as Rusev backs away from the ropes, but Rusev slams him in the corner, only to have Dolph come back with a Famouser for two. Rusev counters an attack off the ropes with a thrust kick, then he stomps Dolph and applies the Accolade while Lana watches. Summer runs over and tries to hit her, but Lana lays her out with a slap and Rusev releases the hold. Rusev goes and yells at her and calls for the ref’s attention, then Dolph rolls outside and Rusev goes after him. Summer attacks Lana from behind as Dolph pops up and superkicks Rusev onto the table, but the ref counts them both out.

Result – Double Countout

Summer runs in and attacks him, but Lana runs in and pulls Summer’s hair and hits her a several times until they are pulled apart. There is a stare down between the two teams to end the segment.

IGN: What’s it been like to work a romance storyline on the show?

Dolph Ziggler: Oh, come on. I’ve usually got some girl on my arm. [laughs]

IGN: But this is different for you. You’re getting more in-ring segments. And a lot of kissing time too.

Ziggler: Honestly, though, it is a little weird because I’m used to only thinking for myself. Running out in matches, doing my own thing, watching my own back and that’s it. Not having a tag partner. Not having someone to think about. But as I slowly got to know Lana a bit more, we developed a bit more chemistry. We started watching each other’s back. And soon we started knowing what the other was thinking. And the more we get to do it together, the more we’ll become a well-oiled unit. So it’s very interesting. Instead of just going down there beating someone up and leaving, I’m smooching a girl, superkicking people and walking out. So you never know. It’s good to do something different. It can’t just always be me going out there by myself. So it’s adding layers to my character and I’m really lucky to be doing it.

IGN: Could a mixed tag match be around the corner?

Ziggler: Absolutely. I think if the four of us keep finding ourselves in these situations, it’s definitely a possibility. While I was gone, the girls were throwing down with each other and rolling around in the ring. I feel like it seems inevitable. I have no idea of anything concrete coming, but hopefully we settle this on Sunday.

Ziggler & Lana come to the ring and promo about Dolph’s injury, struggling while seeing Lana being tortured by Summer Rae, his eventual return on RAW earlier this week, and of course SummerSlam.  They kiss before they are interrupted by Rusev and Summer Rae.  The men argue about who will win at SummerSlam with Dolph saying that he will steal Rusev’s “real” girlfriend.

At The Biggest Party of the Summer, Dolph Ziggler gets his groove, and his girl, back. All he’s got to do is beat one of the biggest, baddest, most fearsome Superstars WWE has seen in years. NBD.

If there was ever a word to describe Dolph Ziggler’s rivalry with Rusev, it would be “personal.” It was personal when Lana gave The Bulgarian Brute the heave-ho as her client and partner, instead finding comfort in the crook of The Showoff’s biceps. It was personal when Ziggler took advantage of Rusev’s ankle injury to humiliate him without fear of retaliation, and it was personal when a healed-up Rusev got the jump on Ziggler and claimed his revenge with a crutch to the windpipe that put Zig Man on the shelf for a month.

While time off has restored The Showoff’s voice to normal, it certainly has done nothing to dull The Bulgarian Brute’s animosity toward his rival: Rusev largely spent Ziggler’s convalescence running down the former World Heavyweight Champion and demeaning Lana in his absence. But Rusev’s also become vulnerable since then; the formerly undefeated monster has suffered losses to Cesaro and Roman Reigns in the month of Ziggler’s absence, suggesting he’s spent too much time focusing on mocking an opponent that isn’t there instead of keeping his head in the game.

It took The Bulgarian Brute’s most heinous act yet — commanding his new ambassador Summer Rae to place Lana in the Accolade — to spur The Showoff back into action, and now, with the bad blood boiling over the brim, the bout between the two is finally set for SummerSlam. Will The Showoff swivel and superkick his way to victory over the Bulgarian monster? Or will Rusev leave his foe crushed in King’s County? Tune into SummerSlam at 7/6 C Sunday, August 23 on the award-winning WWE Network to find out!

Mark Henry vs. Rusev

Back from the break and Rusev waits with Summer Rae. Lana is on commentary and says she has a plan. Mark Henry is out next with an American flag. The lock up and go at it, ending up on the floor. Henry unloads and brings Rusev back in the ring for a World’s Strongest Slam for a 2 count. Henry keeps control and hits another slam for another early pin attempt. Rusev goes to the floor and Henry follows. Rusev takes control and sends Henry into the ring post twice.Rusev goes over and yells at Lana before bringing it back in the ring. He connects with a big kick to the face on Henry and stomps on him before applying The Accolade. Henry looks to fight the hold off but Rusev stomps again and tightens the hold for the win.

Winner: Rusev

After the match, Rusev has the Bulgarian flag drop down with his face on it. We go to replays. Rusev and Summer leave but Lana enters the ring and takes her shoes off. She screams for Summer to come back to the ring. Rusev and Summer stop on the ramp and walk back to the ring. Summer goes in and readies for a fight. Lana laps her pretty hard and she goes down. Lana points at Rusev to come in the ring and he goes. Fans chant for Dolph Ziggler as Rusev backs Lana towards the rope. Ziggler’s music hits to a big pop and he rushes to the ring. Ziggler unloads and ducks a clothesline before hitting a big tornado DDT. Ziggler goes to nail Rusev again but he puts Summer in the way and fans boo. Lana takes Summer down with a kick to the head. Ziggler thanks her and drops Rusev with a kick to the head. Summer and Rusev stumble up the ramp as Ziggler’s music hits and he celebrates with Lana.

After the break, JoJo catches up with Lana and Ziggler backstage. Ziggler wants The Authority to give him a singles match against Rusev at SummerSlam. He says it feels damn good to be back and they walk off.
