We go to the ring and out comes Lana and Rusev. We go to commercial. When we return, we hear Rusev has won his match against Sin Cara during the commercial break. On the mic, Lana shows us a photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a big wild cat and our President Obama with a puppy, which was tweeted out by the Russian Prime Minister last week. Lana sings Happy Birthday to Obama in Russian. The music interrupts and out comes Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter and Old Glory. They hit the ring and Zeb tells Lana to shut up. He’s tired of her voice. He says no wonder Russian men drink so much vodka.
Zeb is tired of hearing about Putin, Russia and Rusev. He cuts a promo about the match at SummerSlam and gets the crowd to do the “we the people” chant. The two sides face off. Rusev and Lana go to leave but come back. Rusev beats Swagger down with the Russian flag and unloads on him. Rusev knocks Swagger out of the ring with the flag. Zeb stands with the American flag in the corner as Lana and Rusev stare him down.

Summerslam Match Preview: Jack Swagger vs Rusev
Published by:

Jack Swagger prepares to defend America’s honor at SummerSlam when he takes on the hulking Hero of the Russian Federation, Rusev, in a Flag Match.
Lana, Rusev’s social ambassador, laid out a challenge for the match on the Aug. 1 edition of SmackDown, a challenge that Zeb Colter immediately and zealously accepted on Swagger’s behalf. At SummerSlam, Old Glory will be hanging in one corner of the ring and the Russian flag in another, and the first Superstar to incapacitate his opponent enough so he can scale the turnbuckles and capture his own flag will be declared the victor.
To date, no Superstar has given Rusev more trouble than Colter’s 6-foot-7, 275-pound, corn-fed “Big Hoss.” Lana’s Super Athlete has yet to suffer a pinfall or submission loss since debuting in WWE in April, but Swagger is the lone Superstar to have notched a win of any kind — albeit, a disqualification victory — over the Bulgarian-born Russian icon.
The clashes so far between Swagger and Rusev have all been hard-hitting affairs, but their Aug. 27 showdown now contains an overtly patriotic twist. When the dust settles, will it be the Stars and Stripes — which Colter says stands for “pick-up trucks, pretty girls and beers” — that’s waved proudly? Or will Lana and Rusev have their way, and it will be the red, white and blue of the Russian flag that’s triumphantly displayed for all to see?
Watch these two heavyweight warriors tie up at SummerSlam, which airs live on WWE Network and pay-per-view Sunday, Aug. 17, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

After Swagger’s match with Cesaro, he celebrates his win with Zeb Colter, until they are interrupted by Lana and Rusev. Rusev waves the Russian flag as Lana takes the mic.
Lana tells us to behold the real red white and blue – the flag of Mother Russia! On behalf of Rusev and the greatest leader in the world; Vladimir Putin, Lana and Rusev challenge America… and Mr Colter himself, to a flag match at Summerslam, against the so called “Real American” Jack Swagger.
Zeb tells Lana that Real Americans never run from two things – one is a party, and the other is a call to action to defend the 50 stars and 13 bars of Old Glory. Zeb accepts the match proposal. However, he says it’s not just him and Swagger accepting the match – it’s every real American within the sound of his voice. Zeb gets the crowd to shout “We, the people!” as Swagger and Rusev wave their respective flags to end the segment.

Rusev and Lana are in the ring and Rusev swings his Russian flag. Lana speaks in Russian to start and then she says that your American flag is a statement that used to be to show supremacy over other nations. It has been on battlefields and even on the surface of the moon. Where is your Old Glory now? It is a faded banner for a ruined nation ruled by cowards who get fat on your apathy. Russia continues to prove its might and is commanded by its fearless leader Vladimir Putin. What does Obama do? He wags his finger and warns about peacekeeping options. Your President is a laughable leader. Now, let’s take a look at the fool you chose before Obama to rule this rotting empire.

Jack Swagger’s music plays and Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger come to the stage. Zeb calls her a blonde haired Bolshevik twit. He tells Lana and the trained bear to listen. He says that this is a real flag with 50 stars and 13 bars. There is no mistaking that this represents the United States. It represents a family sitting around the Thanksgiving table. It represents the thousands of people sitting around a television set watching football. It represents pick up trucks, pretty girls, and beer. Zeb says that this represents the thousands of brave men and women who fought and died to protect their liberty and preserve their freedom. Every time you insult the Americans, it makes it easier for Real Americans to rise and say ‘We the People’.

Swagger runs to the ring and he attacks Rusev. Rusev runs Swagger into the ringside barrier a few times and then he throws him to the other side of the barrier. Rusev sends Swagger into the ring.

Lana gives the signal and he gets ready to apply the Accolade but Swagger counters and tries for the ankle lock but Rusev escapes. Swagger kicks Rusev off the apron and to the floor. Rusev and Swagger have a flag standoff to end the segment.

We are back and Lana has something to say before the match. She says that you worship actors, athletes, and politicians in the United States; but stars fade. In Russia, we have heroes. In America, your President is a star, while her President Vladimir Putin is a hero of Russia and the whole world. The man in the ring is just a star. Like all of the stars before you, you will burn out. You will fall to the greatest hero. Rusev takes the mic and he speaks in Bulgarian.
