We go to the ring, which is decked out in red, white & blue. Michael Cole is in the ring. He welcomes Mark Henry to the ring.

Henry comes out to not much of a reaction. He says having to withdraw from the Olympics in 1996 due to an injury still haunts him. Henry is thankful for second chances and this is his. Henry says he’s going to shut Lana and Rusev up at Night of Champions.

Fans in the crowd are waving American flags. Henry says he can’t let us down on Sunday. A USA chant starts up. Cole talks about some of Lana’s tweets. Rusev’s music hits and out he comes with Lana to interrupt.

Lana tells Henry to shut up. He tells her to send Rusev to shut him up. Lana goes on and laughs at Henry for losing at the Olympics. She shows us a photo of a Russian gold medalist wrestler. Lana goes on talking about Russia, Henry and Obama.

We see Vladimir Putin on the big screen. Lana says history will repeat itself at Night of Champions when Henry fails. Henry says the Pledge of Allegiance but Rusev attacks him. Rusev beats Henry into the corner and unloads on him. Henry catches Rusev and tosses him across the ring. Rusev drop Henry with a big kick. Lana tells Rusev to crush.

Rusev stomps on Henry and tries to put him in The Accolade but Henry resists. Henry fights to his feet and grabs Rusev for a big sitdown chokeslam. Henry sends Rusev to the floor and waves the American flag as his music hits. RAW goes off the air with Henry waving the American flag.

Arm Wrestling Contest: Mark Henry vs Rusev (w/ Lana)

Lana says she’s surprised Henry accepted, but he can still do the right thing and forfeit, just like the American way, and just like he did in the Olympics. Henry says he withdrew from the Olympics to injury, and he never thought he would get another chance to represent his country, but here they are.

Henry says he will unleash fury at Night of Champions, but first he will show him what he does now, and Lana dedicates Rusev’s victory to Vladimir Putin. Rusev complains about locking up for a bit, then they finally start the contest and Henry wins after a few moments.

Winner: Mark Henry

Michael Cole says Rusev and Lana asked for a rematch, this time with their left hands, and Henry agrees and they lock up again. Henry looks to be winning again, but Lana throws powder in his face, and Rusev kicks him in the head before taunting him.

Rusev waits for Henry to start to get back up, and Henry tries to wipe the powder from his eyes, but Rusev blasts him with a superkick and taunts him again.

The irresistible-force paradox will be put to the test at Night of Champions when Mark Henry and Rusev tie up in a collision of super-heavyweight Superstars. Which will stand tall: the proud Texas Longhorn or the ever-confident Russian bear?

The 413-pound World’s Strongest Man and 307-pound Super-Athlete have been at odds since Henry boldly objected to Rusev and Lana’s anti-American rants on the Aug. 18 edition of Raw. In voicing his dissent, Henry, who twice represented the United States weightlifting team at the Olympics, made clear that while he does not disapprove of competitors expressing national pride, he thought Rusev and his Social Ambassador’s badmouthing of the United States had gone too far.

When Rusev tried to ambush him, Henry not only took The Hero of the Russian Federation off his feet, but he also outright outmuscled Rusev, even landing The World’s Strongest Slam. Since then, Rusev has gained an upper hand, ambushing Henry mid-match on the Sept. 1 edition of Raw. The World’s Strongest Man responded by noting his plans to open an international wing of the Hall of Pain.

Several Superstars, from former Intercontinental Champion Big E to former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, have tried dealing Rusev his first pinfall or submission loss, to no avail. At SummerSlam, Swagger, a former All-American grappler at the University of Oklahoma, managed to pick an ankle and reverse the Accolade, but even he was ultimately “crushed” by Rusev.

Will Mark Henry induct Rusev be the first to hand The Super-Athlete a decisive defeat? Or will Rusev continue his mighty streak of pay-per-view victories and add another former World Heavyweight Champion to his list of downed opponents? Find out when Night of Champions airs live on WWE Network on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Rusev (w/ Lana) vs. Sin Cara

Rusev kicks Cara in the corner and headbutts him, then he shoves Cara into the ropes and gets caught with a dropkick on the rebound. Cara hits him a few times and heads up top, connecting with a missile dropkick before charging the opposite corner. Rusev catches him and throws him back, catching him with thrust kick and ending it with the Accolade.

Winner: Rusev

Mark Henry interrupts Lana’s postmatch promo and says he guesses they didn’t get the message, and now they know what happens. Henry walks right to the ring and dares Rusev to fight him, but Rusev rolls outside and leaves.

Rusev (with Lana) vs. Jack Swagger (with Zeb Colter)

Lots of “let’s go Swagger” chants to start this match. Swagger tries for suplexes on the big man, but can’t quite pull it off. Rusev bullies Jack for several minutes until getting dumped to the outside, as a loud “USA” chant breaks out, heading into a commercial break. After the break, Rusev has Swagger in a headlock that lasts several minutes.

A “we the people” chant breaks out and Swagger breaks the hold. He gets his boots up in the corner and lands a few stiff right hands, followed by a mean clothesline. Running knee to the mid-section followed by a running powerslam for a two-count.

He goes for the Swagger Bomb but Rusev gets his foot up – Swagger catches his ankle and puts on the Patriot Lock! Rusev pulls himself to the bottom rope to break the hold, after a few moments. He rolls to the outside to catch his breath, but Swagger follows and puts the Patriot Lock on, on the floor. Rusev hits him with the Russian flag to cause a disqualification.

Winner: Jack Swagger (by DQ)

Rusev takes the flag into the ring and tries to attack Swagger with it, but Zeb Colter steals the flag. Swagger with a big boot that rocks Rusev and sends him into retreat up the ramp. They have a wave-off of the two flags, and the Real Americans stand tall to end Main Event.
